Trailing vs static drawdown
At equal profit, drawdown semantics change the floor — and your room to maneuver. Edit a trajectory: the tool plots the floor for the four semantics and lists verified programs using each.
Key facts
- FTMO 1-Step: end-of-day trailing max loss, 10% — never decreasing, reset after a withdrawal official source (verified 2026-10-08)
- Every other verified program (FTMO 2-Step, FundedNext, The5ers): static max loss from the initial balance official source (verified 2026-10-01)
Teaching approximation: “intraday trailing” here uses each daily close’s high (no intraday data in this tool). The lock is a user-set example — no verified program on this site currently uses a trailing lock (shown as “not modeled” in the table).
Which semantics at which firm? (verified rules)
| Program | Semantics | Max total loss |
|---|---|---|
| FTMO 2-Step | Static | 10 % |
| FTMO 1-Step | EOD trailing | 10 % |
| FundedNext Stellar 2 Step | Static | 10 % |
| FundedNext Stellar 1 Step | Static | 6 % |
| FundedNext Stellar Lite | Static | 8 % |
| FundedNext Stellar Instant | Trailing high-water (locked at initial) | 6 % |
| The5ers High Stakes | Static | 10 % |
| The5ers Hyper Growth | Static | 6 % |
Formulas (as applied)
- static : plancher = capital initial × (1 − perte max %)
- eod_trailing : plancher = max(clôtures journalières) − perte max % × capital initial
- intraday_trailing : plancher = max(equity instantanée) − perte max % × capital initial
- trailing_lock : like eod/intraday with the floor stopping at the lock level — not modeled in the verified YAMLs (no program uses it)
